بِسۡمِ اللّٰہِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِیۡمِ

“In the Name of Allah The Entirely Merciful, The Especially Merciful”

ب – بِسۡمِ is a preposition giving كسرة ( ِ ) on the word (name) اسم

So بِسۡمِ is a prepositional phrase (متعلق) coming at the beginning of the sentence.

There is a مضاف – مضاف إليه relationship between إسم and الله so it translates to name of Allah and along with the prepositional phrase it translates as “In the Name of Allah”

الرَّحۡمٰنِ and الرَّحِیۡمِ are the adjectives (صفاة) of الله

and hence they take كسرة on the last letter just like the كسرة on the last letter of  بِسۡمِ اللّٰہِ

There are different interpretations given to the meaning of both words. But as we know الرَّحۡمٰنِ is the name of الله and hence it is a permanent all encompassing attribute while الرَّحِیۡمِ is an act of showing mercy

So بِسۡمِ اللّٰہِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِیۡمِ translates as

“In the Name of Allah The Entirely Merciful, The Especially Merciful”
